OVERVIEW
This conceptual exhibit reimagines Picasso’s Blue Period by transforming its introspective, moody themes into playful, accessible products, including posters, tote bags, and stickers. By blending historical art with contemporary design, the project invites audiences to engage with classic works in a fresh, creative way.
I took charge of all aspects of the project, including research on Picasso’s Blue Period, concept development, illustration, and product mockups. A key design element was the sticker designs created using blue-tinted lenses, while the tote bags featured a custom illustration pattern inspired by the distinctive faces found in his works. The goal was to juxtapose the original pieces' melancholy with a fun and approachable visual identity.
Although this was a class assignment, the exhibit garnered positive feedback for its innovative interpretation, thoughtful contrasts, and engaging presentation. The project illustrates how historical art can be successfully translated into contemporary, playful design while maintaining its conceptual integrity.
