OVERVIEW
The Consent Code is a design-led initiative aimed at reshaping how consent is understood and communicated on college campuses. The project reframes consent as an ongoing conversation—before, during, and after any interaction—rather than a one-time question, addressing the need for clearer, more normalized dialogue around personal boundaries.
I led the design of campaign graphics, printed materials, and community-based outreach tools, translating a sensitive and often uncomfortable topic into visually engaging, approachable educational resources. The work emphasizes clear language, inclusivity, and cultural relevance, ensuring that materials are accessible and resonate with a diverse student audience.
The initiative includes sticker campaigns, flyers, and other materials strategically placed in high-traffic campus areas to maximize visibility and engagement. By combining design with educational strategy, the project encourages safer, more intentional social interactions and fosters an environment where consent is normalized as an ongoing dialogue.
Early campus feedback has been positive, with students noting that the materials are approachable, easy to understand, and spark meaningful conversations. The Consent Code demonstrates how design can be a powerful tool for education, visibility, and behavior change, using clarity and creativity to make complex social topics accessible.

TWO OF HEARTS EVENT
This event marked a turning point for The Consent Code, transforming it from a school project into a movement. We engaged the Champaign-Urbana community with flyers, stickers, and branded “condom pops,” emphasizing safe and consensual sex.
The Consent Code is an ongoing project in Central Illinois. Please visit the button below for more designs and information on what we've been up to.
